How long does Disifin last once the solution has been made up?
Disifin lasts up to 8 weeks in our special UV protected re-usable spray bottle or 1 week in an open container.

Are there any surfaces that Disifin cannot disinfect?
All surfaces can be disinfected with Disifin.

Is Disifin aquatic safe?
Yes, Disifin is aquatic safe. It's used in Koi and Salmon fish farming to help kill skin flukes (Gyrodactylus) and gill flukes (Dactylogyrus).
It biodegrades naturally by ultraviolet (UV) light within a few weeks.

Do the Disifin tablets contain any cleaning agents?
No cleaning agent is part of our Disifin tablets. For best results we advise you pre-clean your surface with detergent then disinfect with Disifin. Disifin will work on heavily soiled surfaces, but pre-cleaning ensures that there is more of an active disinfectant to attack germs. Research has shown that disinfectants without cleaning agents are more effective at killing germs.

Is Disifin effective against Clostridium Difficile (C. Difficile) spores?
Yes. Disifin has passed BS EN13704 against Clostridium Difficile. The contact time is 30 minutes with 1 tablet per 500ml of water.

Can Disifin Animal disinfect Vivarium?
Disifin Animal is completely safe to disinfect Vivarium’s and will not damage any equipment.

What is the difference between cleaning and disinfecting?
Cleaning and disinfecting are not the same thing. In most cases, cleaning with soap and water is adequate. It removes dirt and most of the germs. However, in other situations disinfecting provides that extra margin of safety.

How do you dilute Disifin (chloramine-t) in pond water or on tap water?
We would recommend diluting Disifin (chloramine-t) with warm tap water.

Will Disifin affect the denture base acrylic (polymethylmethacrylate) if it is left to soak for an extended period of time?
Disifin will not affect the denture base acrylic even if it's soaked for a longer period of time.

Is it effective at disinfecting dog and cat urine and eliminating the odour?
Yes, Disifin neutralises urine, killing the bacteria that causes the bad smell.

Does Disifin stop working when it is dry?
Disifin doesn’t contain any biofilm, once it dries it will stop working, but in some cases like in air ducts, it will continue working due it the high moisture and can be reactivated when wet again.
